Down is where we follow the soccer achievements of Florida High School
Graduates playing soccer for out of state college teams. If you have

Week #2 September 15, 2009
Lauren Reilly, Fairfield University,
freshman
Lauren is
from Boca Raton, FL and graduated from Saint Andrew’s High school in 2009
and played club ball for Team Boca. Lauren has scored 2 goals so far this
season. One goal on Sept. 4th in a 2 to 1 win over San Jose State
and the other in a 4 -0 shutout over Hartford on Sept. 10.
Bridget Becker, Lafayette, freshman
Bridget
is from Weston, FL and graduated in 2009 from Archbishop McCarthy and played
club ball for Team Boca. Bridget was named Brine Patriot League Rookie of
the Week after scoring her first collagen goal on September 13th,
which was an overtime game winner in a 2 to 1 victory over Drexel.
Chrissy Gratz,
East
Carolina, freshman
Chrissy
is from Sunrise, FL and graduated from Archbishop McCarthy in 2009 and
played club soccer for Team Boca. Chrissy scored her first career goal in a
2-2 tie with North Carolina State on September 11th.
Melissa Battista, Gardner Webb, junior
Melissa is from Orlando, FL and graduated from Lake Highland Prep in 2007.
Melissa had an assist in a 3 to 0 victory over the Citadel on September 5th.
Kayla Grimsley,
South Carolina, sophomore
Kayla is from Lakeland, FL where she graduated from George Jenkins High
School in 2008. Kayla scored goals in wins against Clemson on Sept 11th
and UNCW on Sept 13th. Kayla leads the 12th ranked
Gamecock in scoring with 5 goals and 1 assist.
Emily Dowd,
Tennessee, sophomore
Emily is from Gainesville, FL and graduated from Gainesville High School in
2008. Emily assisted on the game winning goal in a 1 to 0 victory over
Wisconsin on Sept 6th and scored a goal in a 2 to 1 win over
Memphis on Sept 11th.
Rebecca Howell, Auburn, senior
Rebecca
is from Satellite Beach, Fl and graduated from Satellite High School in
2006. Rebecca scored the game winning goal in a 3 to 2 victory over Texas
Tech on Sept 13th.
Heather Havron,
Auburn, Sophomore
Heather is from Winter Park, Fl where she graduated from Winter Park High
School in 2007. Heather assisted on a goal in a 3 to 1 victory over Kennesaw
State on Sept 4th.
Megan Zusi,
Furman, Junior
Megan is from Longwood, FL where she graduated from Lake Brantley High
School in 2007. Megan Scored the goal of the game a 2 to 1 victory over
Jacksonville on Sept 4th.
Mariel Mena
Lenoir-Rhyne, Sophomore
Mariel is from Gainesville, FL and graduated from P.K. Yonge High School in
2008. Mariel had an assist in a 2 to 1 win over UNCP on August 29th,
an assist on the game winning goal in a 2 to 1 victory over Belmont Abbey on
Sept 8th, and the game winning goal in a 4 to 1 victory over King
on Sept 12th.
Kelly
Nimmo Columbus
State, Senior
Kelly is from Safety Harbor, FL where she graduated from Countryside High
School in 2006.
Kelly was named PBC Goal Keeper of the week. Kelly played 135 shutout
minutes in the two games of the week, beginning with the opening period
against West Georgia and the full 90 minutes against UNCP. CSU defeated UWG
4-0 and then followed with a 1-0 win over UNCP. In the PBC opener, Nimmo
recorded seven saves - four in the second half - as the Braves intensified
their offensive efforts. She leads the PBC with a microscopi 0.26
goals-against average and also leads the league in save pecentage at .923.
Jill Pinder,
Troy, Junior
Jill is
from Pensacola, Fl where she graduated from B.T. Washington High School in
2007. Jill had a goal in a 15 to 0 win over ALST on Sept 6th.
Jill is tied with the team lead in goals with 4.
Ashley Miller, Georgia, sophomore
Ashley is
from Lake Mary, FL where she graduated from Lake Mary high school in 2008.
Ashley assisted on the game winning goal in a 1 to win over Northeastern on
Sept 6th, scored a goal in a 3 to 0 victory over Georgia State on
Sept 11th, and an assit on the game winning goal against UNC on
Sept 13th. George is currently ranked #8 in the country.
