Two Moccasins Earn Academic Honors
The
Moccasins' Ashlie Haas
and Renee Heacock
have received third-team recognition on the 2009 Academic All-District
Women's Soccer Team selected by members of the College Sports Information
Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Both players have started every game this season for the Moccasins
(10-6-1). Haas, a junior defender, has a goal and two assists, while
Heacock, a senior defender, has two goals and one assist.
Haas is majoring in biology and has a 3.53 grade point average. Heacock
is majoring in nursing and has a 3.78 GPA.
They are the eighth and ninth FSC women's soccer players to earn Academic
All-District recognition. Mindy Dymon was a first-team selection and Lacy
Emmerling was a second-team selection in 2002. Joanie DeHaven was a
first-team selection and Dymon was a second-team selection in 2003. Amy
Clampitt-Holsenbeck and
Linda Hoglund were
second-team selections in 2007. Erin Hopkins was a first-team selection
last year and went on to earn second-team Academic All-America recognition.
