JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior forward Katelin Swift rounds up her second Atlantic Sun Player of the Week award for the 2009 season and her fourth all-time with the University of North Florida women’s soccer team.

With a similar performance to the one she turned in to win her first weekly nod this season Swift recorded two goals and an assist, giving her five points in the Ospreys’ 4-2 win over The Citadel on Sunday in the UNF Hampton Inn Ponte Vedra Showcase at Hodges Stadium.

Swift, showing her aggressiveness, scored the match’s first goal in the third minute on a
through-ball splitting the Bulldog’s defenders. She one touched a shot over the Citadel’s keeper in the right corner of the net.

In the 16th minute Swift received a header from senior midfielder Kristin Rhodes, allowing the Jacksonville, Fla. native to get her second one touch score of the day.

Swift leads the A-Sun in goals (7), goals per game (.78), points (17), points per game (1.89), and is tied for second in assists with three. With 10 matches left in the season Swift is over halfway to breaking her total goal count of 10 from last season.

“I’m so excited,” said Swift. “I didn’t expect to win the award.  I just hope to keep improving and I’m ready to get into conference play.”

The Ospreys will open A-Sun conference play on the road against East Tennessee State on Friday, Sept. 25 in Johnson City, Tenn. In 2008 against the Bucs Swift was able to put up the match winning goal in the Ospreys 2-0 win.

UNF will continue league play on Sunday, Sept. 27, at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C.
