RSL Rolls into Showcase Semi-Finals
After a shaky
ending in their first game where they blew a 3 to 0 lead with 20 minutes
remaining in the game, the RSL u-18 girls defense has completely shut down
any offensive threats in their last two games. They have not allowed any
quality shots on goal in the last 180 minutes.
Tishia Jewell
started the scoring about midway through the 1st half with a
nifty move to beat the defender and bury the ball into the back of the net.
The game would remain close until 10 minutes into the second half when
Jewell would score again off and assist from Chelsea Klotz. Ten minutes
later Klotz would find the back of the net as she would one time a Noelle
Pineiro cross past the Boca Jr keeper. Shortly there after Kayla Bala would
cap off the scoring when she took a pass from Annick McBryar. Bala with her
back to the
goal just outside the 18 she would turn take on to defenders and blast the
shot past the diving keeper.
With the 4 to
0 victory over the California side RSL would win their bracket and earn a
birth into the Disney Showcase Bracket Semi-Finals. RSL will play Albertson
Fury from New York in the Showcase Semi-Final game on Saturday morning at
8:30am on field #4.
