Patterson Named to All-BIG EAST Rookie Team
TAMPA-
Freshman Taylor Patterson of the University of South Florida women's soccer
team has been named to the 2009 All-BIG EAST Rookie Team in addition to
being named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team.
The Edmonton, Alberta native, was sensational in her debut campaign with
starting 18 of 19 contests. She accumulated seven points on the season and
her five assists were tied for most on the team. Her lone goal proved to be
the game winner in the Bulls 3-0 win over Louisville.
Patterson is the first Bull to gain All-Conference honors since Lindsay
Brauer and Autumn Browning picked up second team and honorable mention
honors in 2007. She marks the first Bull to be named to the All-BIG EAST
Rookie Team in five seasons of BIG EAST play.
Recently, Patterson, along with teammates Gina Pacheco, Bahar Sansar and
Rehana Murani traveled to El Paso, Texas to take part in the Canadian
women's U-20 team camp at the University of Texas, El Paso.
In the first of two friendly matches with Mexico, Patterson scored a goal in
the Canada's 3-3 tie with Mexico on October 29th in Juarez, Mexico.
