Kidd will lead Leon girls soccer
from tallahassee.com
When you own your own company, you get to make your
schedule.
And for Tony Kidd, such flexibility translates into time to serve as the
Leon girls soccer coach.
Kidd, a 1983 Leon graduate, has been hired to take over the coaching duties
left open after the resignation of Victoria O'Sullivan, who coached the
Lions for two years.
This will be Kidd's first high school head coaching job.
The owner of Kidd Construction, a commercial and residential restoration
company, the 43-year-old has also spent the past five years coaching and
developing players in the Tallahassee United Futbol Club. He holds a United
States Soccer Federation National D Coaching License.
"It's a chance to come and take a program that's struggled and bring it up
organization and soccer-wise," Kidd said.
He attributes his experience organizing, managing, and motivating people as
well as his experience dealing with players and parents with TUFC as key
reasons for his hiring.
"Coach Kidd very much impressed our (search) committee with what he can
bring to our girls' soccer program," Leon Athletic Director Mark Feely said.
"...He struck me as very organized, knowledgeable, and ready to work hard
for our kids."
