Jones, Morris Earn CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District
PENSACOLA,
Fla. — Seniors
Courtney Jones
(Panama City, Fla./Bay HS) and
Kaley Morris (Gulf
Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) of the No. 1 University of West Florida women’s
soccer team have been selected by the College Sports Information Directors
of America to the Academic All-District Team. Jones represents the Argos on
the First Team while Morris will claim her spot on the Third Team for
district three.
Jones, a 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Second Team
Scholar All-American, will represent the Argos as the goalkeeper on the
First Team for district three. An Exercise Science major, Jones holds a 3.86
GPA while maintaining the starting goalkeeper job for the top ranked Argos.
On the season she has earned all 16 wins with four shutouts and a 0.32 goals
against average.
Morris earns her first career selection for CoSIDA/ESPN Academic
All-District. A Biology major, Morris has earned a 3.52 GPA over her four
year career with West Florida. She has played a solid defense for the Argos,
claiming Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week earlier in the month of
October. As an everyday starter for the Argos she has tallied three goals
and one assist on the season thus far.
The Argos will finish out their regular season Saturday afternoon against
visiting NAIA Lambuth University. Kickoff is slated for 12:30pm CT at the
UWF Soccer Complex.
