Jenkins One Game Away From Another
Unbeaten Season
Last
Season the Jenkins Girl's Soccer Team were led to an unbeaten season and
their first state championship by current South Carolina standout Kayla
Gimsley. After last years magical season how would this team respond this
year? And with Grimsley gone, would anyone be able to step up and lead
this team. With just one game left in the regular season and and no loses
those questions have been answered.
Another Kayla has taken over were Grimsley left. Her
name is Kayla Bayla. Bala who mostly stood in Grimsley shadow the past 3
years has done well in the spot light. Bala was named NSCAA All American
this year and has committed to play for Florida Gators.
Last night against Lakeland, scoring 3 goals, she showed
again why she is up to the task of leading this team into the playoffs. She
not only is able to score by using her speed and strength, but as she did
last night, is also able to bend the free kicks in for the score.
In the Mercy Rule shortened game Brittany Trawick and
Theresa Butler also scored two goals each. Aliena Gomes scored the eighth
and final goal with 35 minutes left to end the game.
