Incoming Freshman earns All-America honorable mention

Kelsey Latham, one of head coach Brian Copham’s incoming freshmen, has been honored by ESPNRise.com as an honorable mention selection for their 2009 All-America squad. Latham is one of seven honorable mentions from the talent-rich state of Colorado.

“I’m very happy for Kelsey’s recognition,” said Copham. “We’ve been looking forward to having her and her classmates here this fall and are excited to see what they can bring to our young team.”

Latham was a three-year starter at Chatfield High School in Littleton, Colo. As a senior, she helped lead the Chargers to an undefeated 19-0-1 season capped off with a 5A state championship and a No. 1 ranking. That season, she also received first team all-state and all-Colorado honors while also receiving first team academic all-state accolades. Latham played club soccer on the Colorado Rush Nike team, which won the state championship in 2005.
