TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State Women's Soccer
team announced its schedule for the 2009 spring season on Friday,
February 13. The Seminoles will square-off against four schools
during the spring including a trio of schools from the
Southeastern Conference.
The spring season gets underway on Saturday, February 28 at
2:00 p.m. as the Seminoles will travel to Athens, Ga., to face the
Georgia Bulldogs.
Florida State will serve as host to a pair of games in
back-to-back weekends beginning Saturday, March 21 as UCF travels
to Tallahassee for a 4:00 p.m. kick-off. The following weekend
(Saturday, March 28) Auburn makes the trek to the Sunshine State
to face the Seminoles at 2:00 p.m. Prior to the game against the
Tigers, Florida State will host an alumni game at the Seminole
Soccer Complex beginning at 12 noon.
On April 4, Florida State and Florida will square-off at Viera
Regional Park in Melbourne, Fla. Kick-off for the match is
tentatively set for 1:30 p.m.
Highlighting the 2009 spring roster for the Seminoles is
two-time All-American
Amanda DaCosta and 2008 ACC Freshman of the Year
Tiffany McCarty.
Becky Edwards, gold medalist for the U.S. U-20 squad at the
FIFA World Championship, and
Erin McNulty (goalkeeper for Team Canada) will be back in
action this spring. Florida State will also introduce
Breezy Hupp to the college ranks this spring as Hupp arrived
on campus in January enrolling early at Florida State for the
spring semester.
