FGCU to hold clinic, then face Duke in exhibition March 28
The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s soccer team will host a soccer
clinic for girls 14 and under at the FGCU Soccer Complex on Saturday, March
28, at 4 p.m. Following the clinic is a women’s soccer game against Duke at
6 p.m. The cost is $5 per person and tickets are on sale now.
Duke is one of the elite programs in the country with six NCAA College
Cup appearances, and most recently a finished its season in the Elite Eight.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with Duke University
for this event,” said head women’s soccer coach Jim Blankenship. “The clinic
is offered to young female players in the community and is a great
opportunity for thriving soccer players. We thank Power and Embassy Suites
for supporting this project.”
The clinic will be held at the FGCU Soccer Complex, located between
Swanson Stadium and Alico Arena. For information and pre-registration or to
set up a separate clinic with the FGCU women’s soccer team, contact
Blankenship at 239-590-7571. Walk-ups will also be accepted Saturday
morning/afternoon.
