Final Stats

The University of Louisiana-Lafayette scored once in each half en route to picking up a 2-0 victory in Sun Belt Conference action over the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team on Sunday afternoon at the FAU Soccer Stadium.

The visiting Ragin Cajuns found the back of the net in the 39th minute on a Cayla Chatman shot to the upper left corner of the goal from the center of the attacking box. The goal gave Louisiana-Lafayette a 1-0 advantage.

FAU thought it had tied the match midway through the second half after a shot by Jessica Vickery slipped through the Ragin Cajuns' goalkeeper. Freshman Ingrid Berg finished into a wide open net. However, an offsides call negated the goal.

Louisiana-Lafayette added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute on a counter attack by Maci Andrus.

Freshman forward Jamie Greany paced the offensive attack for the second straight match with six shots. Tamara Kesser and Laura Hyvonen each added three shots. The Owls outshot the Ragin Cajuns 20-16 in the match and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Lauren Berlingo stopped all five shots toward goal as Louisiana-Lafayette picked up its first victory of the season.

FAU falls to 3-10-2 on the season and 1-5 in Sun Belt Conference action. The Owls will travel to Troy University on Friday, Oct. 16, starting at 4 p.m. (ET). FAU will return home on Oct. 23 against Arkansas State University. ULL improves to 1-12-1 overall and 1-5 in conference action.
