Duncan Collects Second Straight GSC Player Of The Week

PENSACOLA,
Fla. — University of West Florida forward,
Shakira Duncan,
earns her third career and second consecutive Gulf South Conference Player
of the Week award after leading the Lady Argos to a 4-0 victory over then
No. 23 North Alabama this past Friday. On the week she totaled three goals
and two assists for eight points.
The junior from Kingston, Jamaica netted a hat trick and assist in the
shutout win over the Lions. Her third goal of the match tied UWF’s single
season record for goals at 24. On Sunday she collected an assist in a 6-0
shutout over West Georgia which also matched West Florida’s single season
mark for points, 58.
Currently, Duncan is ranked as the top points leader in Division II,
averaging 3.63 points per match and is the nation’s second leading goal
scorer with 1.5 goals per game.
