Bulls Glad to Have No.1 Seed

As competitive as the top of Class 5A-District 8 is in girls soccer, Bloomingdale’s Jordan Johnson said the Bulls are thrilled to have the No.1 seed for the district tournament which begins on January 20 at Newsome High.

“Bloomingdale, Newsome and Freedom are all on the same level,” Johnson said. “So for us, we’re happy to be the No.1 [seed], but it could have been any one of us, and for us to be there now, we feel really good about it.”

Earning that spot means the Bulls will face either Wharton or King in the district semifinals for a berth in the region tournament. While neither the Wildcats or Lions are pushovers, it is a lot more appealing than having to face either the Wolves or the Patriots for a place in regions. more
