Box Score
TAMPA -
The University of South Florida women's soccer teams was eliminated from the
2009 BIG EAST Tournament by top-seeded Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind by the
score of 5-0 Sunday afternoon.
The Irish did all their damage in the first half play. Senior goalkeeper
Mallori Lofton-Malachi surrendered four goals in just over 33 minutes of
action. She was relieved by redshirt freshman Gaby Garton who played the
remaining 46 minutes of the match.
Garton made four saves and allowed just one goal.
Playing in their first-ever BIG EAST Championship quarterfinal, the Bulls
struggled to get anything going on the offensive end as they failed to put a
shot on goal and were outshot 25-4.
Sophomore Chelsea Klotz led the Bulls with two total shots.
With the loss, USF finishes the 2009 season with a record of 9-8-3.
