Britt’s Hard work puts her over the Century Mark
Taylor’s Ciarra Britt
recently joined an exclusive club. She is just the 11th area
girls soccer player to reach 100 goals in her career. Britt who also owns
her school record for goals scored, said “It definitely demonstrated all the
hard work I’ve put into these past 3 seasons. It was a great feeling when
the girls all hugged me and congratulated me. Making the 100th goal was a
great milestone but now I'm looking to tuck away some more. I’m proud to
have set the schools record.”
1. What did it mean to you to reach the 100 goals mark?
It definitely demonstrated all the hard work I’ve put into these past 3
seasons. It was a great feeling when the girls all hugged me and
congratulated me. Making the 100 was a great milestone but now I'm looking
to tuck away some more. I’m proud to have set the schools record.
2. When and why did you start playing soccer?
I started playing soccer when I was 4 years old. I always went to my
sisters' soccer practices and games. Then one day, at home, I grabbed the
ball she always had outside and dribbled it around the tree in our yard. Mom
saw me and thought it was a good idea to sign me up for soccer. I’ve loved
it ever since!
3. Who has been the most influential person in your soccer career?
I'd have to say that my coach from U-7 to U-13, Jerry Copeland, was the most
influential person in my career. He was a great coach and taught me a lot
about soccer!
4. Who is your favorite soccer player?
Gee my favorite player?! Umm I'd have to say three way tie between Cristiano
Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Fernando Torres. They're all great players!
5. What person do you look up to most and why?
I look up to my sisters. They are ambitious and work hard to help people. I
hope to be as successful as they are.
6. What is your favorite song or type of music?
My favorite song is pretty much every other song that comes on the radio. My
favorite type of music changes with my mood, but I‘ll listen to anything.
7. What is your favorite thing to do besides soccer?
I like to spend time with my friends. Whether it be catching movies, going
to the beach, or shopping at the mall, I like to hang out with them.
8. Favorite soccer moment?
I'd have to say my junior year when we slaughtered Crescent City, our arch
rival, 8-0. The girls tried to lift me up after the game in celebration.
9. This year's stats.
15 goals 1 assist
10. Career Stats.
100 goals 22 assists
11. College Commitment and why you chose this college
I've verbally committed to play at Stetson University. I really like the
coaches and the players there. Academically its a great University. Its
close to home so my mom can make all the games. Also I’m used to small,
quiet communities so I think it’ll be a great fit.
