Alana Christian made history on Friday night.
The Interlachen High School sophomore forward scored just three minutes into
the game for her Putnam County record 36th goal of the season, then added
two more goals in leading the visiting Rams to a 3-0 victory over Newbery.
The first goal, which broke the 35-goal mark Joey Cambers set last fall for
Peniel Baptist Academy, came on an 18-yard shot in the top left corner and
off a Jacqueline Fraga assist. Christian added her second goal at the
eight-minute mark and the third in the 58th minute.
Terri Tompson stopped four shots for the Rams (12-5-1), who will host
Keystone Heights in the opening round of the District 5-3A tournament at 7
p.m. Tuesday
